The Artist Behind the Maps

Welcome to Miska's Maps, the creative work of cartographer and TTRPG designer Miska Fredman.

To me, a role-playing game map isn't just a drawing of a place; it's a promise of adventure, a catalyst for epic stories, and the foundation of unforgettable moments around the gaming table.

Miska’s Maps began as a passion project with the first-ever Mapvember back in November 2015. What started as a few hand-drawn maps on post-it notes has grown into a global community of game masters and world-builders. Miska's Maps Patreon was launched in December 2015, and over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to one goal: providing you with the high-quality, VTT-ready maps and assets I've wanted for my own table.

In 2022, I launched Cyberpunk Maps as a separate Patreon project dedicated to near-future and modern-era battlemaps. While many of my sci-fi maps work for cyberpunk TTRPGs, I wanted to offer a project dedicated to cyberpunk aesthetics, with a consistent style and scale.

The Mission

My mission at Miska's Maps is to provide detailed, inspiring, and ready-to-use battlemaps for tabletop role-playing games. Whether it's for an urban hideout, a derelict starship, or ancient cursed ruins, the goal is to help you spend less time prepping and more time making your games immersive and fun.

Expertise & Process

I have been a professional TTRPG cartographer for nearly a decade. My workflow combines traditional artistic principles with modern digital tools. Crucially, I design with a VTT-first mindset. This means every map is exported at the correct scale and tested within virtual tabletop environments to ensure colors pop and grids align perfectly.

A Human Touch

In a shifting digital landscape, I remain committed to human-created art. Each map is a result of creative problem-solving and a passion for the TTRPG hobby, ensuring that your world feels unique and alive. You are welcome to explore the collection here and on my Patreon – and may your next campaign be a great one.
