Use Miska's Maps In Your Commercial Products

I’m happy to announce the new Miska’s Maps Commercial Use License terms, effective now, August 16th, 2025! 

I’ve created this license to allow the use of my maps in commercial projects. This license is designed especially for small creators and indie publishers, offering an affordable way to use my maps in their digital and print products.

However, it’s worth mentioning that if you are a paid GM, a monetized streamer, or an actual play show, you do not need this license to use my maps. Being my active patron on any tier and crediting my work is enough.

Here are the key points to remember

• You must be an active patron. You must be a fully paid-up patron of a designated commercial tier at the time you publish a new product using our Maps. If your patronage lapses, you can't use our Maps in new products, but you can continue to sell products that you already published while you were an active patron.
• The license is for Maps only. This license grants you the right to use our Maps in your commercial products. It does not cover our other assets like tiles, tokens, or props.
• Don't sell the Maps by themselves. Maps must be used as a supplementary visual aid within a larger work. The Maps can't be the main selling point of your product. You can't sell or share the map files separately.
• Use a limited number of Maps. Depending on your tier, you can use a specific number of Maps each month in new commercial projects. The "Limited License" allows for two (2) Maps per month, while the "Extended License" allows for up to five (5) Maps per month. Unused monthly map credits do not carry over to the next month.
• You must give credit. You need to provide clear credit to Miska's Maps in your product. The required format is "Map(s) by Miska's Maps (www.miskasmaps.com)". For videos or streams, the credit should be in the description or end credits.
• You can't change the core artwork. You may not fundamentally alter the core artwork or integrity of the Maps, such as by overpainting or adding props. However, minor alterations like resizing or cropping for printing are okay. You can also add elements on top of the map, such as numbers or text, as long as the original Map remains recognizable.
• No AI or NFTs. You may not use our Maps for training artificial intelligence, machine learning models, or any similar technologies. You also cannot use them for Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) or other blockchain-based items.
