#mapvember2018 3/30: Mirror Maze

A strange crystalline growth has started to take over landscapes at an accelerating rate. The growth has a silvery-white reflective surface, and its edges are incredibly sharp. When near a “mirror maze,” people start experiencing auditory hallucinations that resemble incomprehensible whispering voices. The growth seems to originate from underground sources near the comet fragment impact sites.

#Mapvember2018 1/30: Run to the Hills

Catching up with my #mapvember maps. I decided to try making anything but fantasy maps this #mapvember since all my maps last year were fantasy dungeons. So, around thirty sci-fi, modern and post-apocalyptic maps coming up ?

This map has an old abandoned landing pad on top of a steep hill. It could be an evacuation spot or just higher ground that’s easier to defend against forces or creatures chasing the adventurers.

There’s also a small passage leading into the hillside… Perhaps connecting upcoming maps.

[Map] A Black Raven Down (with a Sensor HUD)

A Corvus-Class HX-50 Light Freighter has crashlanded. Initial sensor readings have some good and bad news. Lifesigns are detected, but the reactor core is going critical any minute now. Your crew needs to hurry to get the operation done before any survivors and the ship’s valuable data is vaporized.

The commercial & Patreon version of this map comes with a bunch of different versions. Besides the versions with different annotations and hud options, there is also a night vision version of the map.

I have wanted to make an “alien dungeon” for quite sometime already. This is my shot at it. I wanted to add strange shaped rooms mixed with cavern-like structures and more symmetric rooms. While drawing this I was thinking of the caves and structures you could see in Prometheus and Arrival for example.

I think that this “alien dungeon” could work in a fantasy setting as a weird dark cultist temple or something similar.

[Map] Space Cantina

Like in fantasy settings, cantinas and bars are an essential part of sci-fi and cyberpunk settings.

This bar was based on one of my higher tier patron’s wishes and it has two separate areas: one with small tables and more privacy for shady deals, and another area with a stage for bands and other performers.

There’s also a VIP area with gambling tables and the bar owner’s office. Behind the bar desk and the storage room there’s a secret access to a hidden rooms with equipment for various illicit operations like black market deals or running a insurgent activities.
